Senior Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and highly analytical Senior Accountant to oversee the financial operations of our international investment holding company. This role is central to managing the complex financial landscape of our organization, which includes sister companies across the United States and the European Union. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate, compliant with dual accounting standards (US GAAP and IFRS), and reflective of current market conditions. This is a full-time position designed for a professional who thrives in a multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional environment.

Key Responsibilities

-      Multi-Entity Consolidation: Manage and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes for the holding company and its international subsidiaries. Ensure seamless inter-company reconciliations and eliminations.

-      Dual-Standard Compliance: Prepare and review financial statements in strict accordance with both US GAAP and IFRS, managing the nuances and reconciliations between the two frameworks.

-      Investment Accounting: PerformMark-to-Market (MTM) accounting for a diverse portfolio of financial instruments. Value assets and liabilities based on current market prices to ensure real-time accuracy of the balance sheet.

-      System Management: Utilize enterprise-level software (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar ERPs) to manage multi-company ledgers, automate reporting workflows, and maintain data integrity across regions.

-      Capital Markets Support: Assist in the accounting treatment of capital market transactions, including private equity investments, and derivative hedging strategies.

-      Audit & Tax Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors in both the US and EU, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.

Minimum Qualifications

-      Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within an investment holding, private equity, or financial services firm.

-      Accounting Standards: Demonstrated expertise in both US GAAP and IFRS. You must be comfortable navigating the differences in revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instrument classification.

-      Technical Proficiency: Advancedhands-on experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics. Mastery of Excel (PowerQuery, Pivot Tables) for complex data manipulation is essential.

-      Capital Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial instruments, including fixed income, equities, and derivatives, with specific experience in fair value/mark-to-market accounting.

-      Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mathematics, or Physics.

-      Global Mindset:Experience handling multi-currency transactions and understanding the impact of FX volatility on consolidated financial statements.

Preferred Qualifications

-      Certifications: Holding a CFA(Chartered Financial Analyst) charter is a significant advantage. A CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting designation is also highly preferred.
