NaviGenie provides high-speed on-line mapping information presented in a route-planning application using high quality perspective mode 2.5D and 3D views of city and street maps as well as building footprints. There are several different user-customizable view options, including bird, satellite and street-perspective views. The ultra portable NaviGenie 3D navigation client enables mobile users to enjoy high performance 3D navigation experience on all type of mass market handsets with Android, Brew, iPhone, Java, Linux, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms.
First launched in 2003, the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge is focused on driving the development and visibility of innovative location-based solutions (LBS) for wireless devices. The Global LBS Challenge has become the premier event in the wireless industry and a global symbol of LBS innovation and opportunity. From business applications to sports, travel and security, integrating the accuracy and richness of NAVTEQ digital map data facilitates the discovery of the next wave of LBS using dynamic positioning technology. Winners are chosen by a panel of distinguished judges in each of five regions. With a global prize pool valued at over $5.5 million (equivalent to over € 4 million) this year, and a track record of bringing commercial contracts and funding to a large part of the semifinalists since inception, the LBS Challenge is a proof of NAVTEQ's long experience of stimulating innovation in the LBS space. Since the launch of the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge, over 32% of the finalist companies have gone on to receive venture capital funding or launched commercially-distributed applications, many on major wireless carriers. The winners of EMEA were chosen from a strong field of 13 semifinalists in the categories Navigation, Enterprise, Entertainment & Leisure, Social Networking and Content. We are proud to have made it so far and to be awarded Third Runner-Up for our NaviGenie application. As the Third Runner-Up for EMEA, Kishonti Informatics receives in total over 350,000 Euros, consisting of a cash prize, a 3-year NAVTEQ territory map data license to launch the commercialized application, a 1-year license to deCarta's Drill Down Server geospatial software platform or Hosted Web Services, and a 6-month license to Mobile Distillery's Alembic online database.
