Imagination and Kishonti previewed GLBenchmark 2.5 at SIGGRAPH 2011August 09, 2011 Imagination Technologies, a leading multimedia and communications technologies company, and Kishonti Informatics, a trusted benchmarking service provider demonstrated publicly, for the first time, a preview of the latest Kishonti GLBenchmark 2.5 benchmark running on some of the latest devices powered by PowerVR graphics at SIGGRAPH 2011.
The demonstration, which focused on graphics application performance using the OpenGL ES 2.0 API from Khronos was implemented at Imagination's booth (#129) running on several devices incorporating Imagination's PowerVR Series5 and Series5XT multiprocessor graphics acceleration IP cores. Says Tony King-Smith, VP marketing, Imagination: ''As high performance applications platforms offering accelerated OpenGL ES 2.0 based graphics become widespread across more mobile phones, computing devices and games consoles, the need for appropriate, consistent and trusted benchmarks continues to grow across an ever broader spectrum of users throughout the supply chain. Kishonti's GLBenchmark is one of the key trusted tools relied upon by the industry for comparing and quantifying OpenGL ES 2.0 and 1.1 performance. Imagination has worked extremely closely with Kishonti to help them develop their benchmark tools since the earliest days of their GLBenchmark suite, and we are pleased to help them show their latest benchmarking tools at SIGGRAPH 2011.'' Says Laszlo Kishonti, founder and general manager of Kishonti Informatics: ''We are delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate our forthcoming GLBenchmark 2.5 with our key partner Imagination, the recognized industry leader in embedded and mobile graphics, at SIGGRAPH, the world's most important graphics conference. Mobile phones, tablets and other embedded devices are becoming by far the highest volume and most widely used platforms for high performance graphics. More than ever before developers, silicon vendors, OEMs, analysts and many others are coming to us to use GLBenchmark tools to analyze and compare solutions. We believe GLBenchmark 2.5 will be a vital tool for the mobile and computing industries to help them quantify and validate graphics performance.'' Read more about GLBenchmark 2.5.
