Success of 3D Navigation demo at MWC 2010

February 20, 2010

Kishonti Informatics presented its new fully textured 3D navigation demo at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Kishonti Informatics presented a fully textured 3D navigation demo displaying terrain and realistic city model during navigation at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Visitors could see a simulated turn-by-turn navigation in downtown Washington and Munich in a detailed 3D environment rendered real time on a mobile device. They could also interact with the application and move around freely in the same 3D environment. By rendering such data rich environment in real time the application demonstrated the power of the award winning NaviGenie 3D Navigation Framework on mobile devices.

The application was presented at the booth of Texas Instruments and Imagination Technologies on a TI OMAP development board. NaviGenie presented Navteq's Enhanced 3D City Model data and used extensively the advanced 3D hardware acceleration technology embedded in OMAP3 and OMAP4 CPU family opening new dimensions in map visualisation.
